Benchmark indices ended volatile session marginally higher and snapped four-day losing streak, driven by select banks and IT stocks.The Sensex settled above the psychological 39,000 level after moving above and below that level in intraday trade. The market breadth was in favour bears.

The Nifty50 gained 19.30 points at 11,691.50.IT sector were major gainer of the day and Pharma sector were major loser of the day.

Sweden’s AB Volvo is joining forces with U.S. chipmaker Nvidia to develop artificial intelligence used in self-driving trucks. European stock markets recovered from early falls on Tuesday after European Central Bank chief Mario Draghi promised more monetary stimulus if the economy does not improve, offsetting another warning on slowing sales from the chip sector. European STOXX 600 index was 0.1% higher.

China’s Shanghai Composite fell 0.2%, while the Shenzhen Component inched up 0.1%.

Australia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the A-REITs, Gold and Healthcare sectors led shares higher. The S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.60% to hit a new 5-year high.
