Domestic bourses had positive start of the week tracking the global development as the fear of trade between China and US eases a bit; giving boost to equities market around the globe. Nifty settled higher for the third straight session at 10393.90.
FMCG stocks were the major gainers of the day and Media shares were the major losers of the day.
Global Markets Update
European share market took a breather on Monday tracking the bullish close of DJIA form USA and inched higher as the trade war worries eases a bit. The pan European STOXX 600 (STOXX) had risen 0.5%. Shares in Telecom Italia dropped as much as 5% before paring losses as a battle continues among key shareholders in the Italian phone group.
Lemon Tree Hotels has made a decent debut by listing at Rs 61.60, a 10% premium against issue price of Rs 56 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
Shares of Titan Company hit a new high of Rs 971.80 per share, up 3.3% after the company said that its jewelry segment saw mid teen retail sales growth during the quarter ended March 2018.
Shares of Datamatics Global Services have rallied 15% to Rs 129 per share, extending their 2% gain after the acquisition of RJ Globus Solutions, a BPO company in Philippines.
Alembic Pharma has received approval from the US health regulator for its Acyclovir ointment USP, used for the treatment of genital herpes. The company has received approval from the USFDA for its abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) Acyclovir ointment USP, 5%.
Jindal Steel and Power Ltd has posted its life-time high monthly crude steel production in March 2018 at 0.45 million tonne. This was 55 % higher that produced during the corresponding month of 2017.
Japans stock market too inched higher following the global cues and reacted positively on easing tension between China and US. The Nikkei 225 rose 0.51%.
Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Electricity; Biotech & Medical Care and Plastic sectors led shares higher. At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.67%.
Australia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Staples and Utilities sectors led shares higher. At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 added 0.40%.
