Benchmark indices consolidated on the last trading session of the week ahead of a key job data report from the US today i.e. Non Farm Pay Roll and Unemployment rate data, investors remained cautious to initiate any further long position in the market as the data will have significant impact on markets. The Nifty ended the session to close at 8697.60 i.e. 11.95 points lower.
Tata Steel, Tata Motors DVR, Zeel and Bajaj Auto were the top gainers of the day while Infratel, Asian Paints, Eicher Motors and HDFC were the top losers of the day.

Volkswagen is not considering the sale of any of its brands or a capital increase to cope with the costs of the emissions scandal, its supervisory board Chairman Hans Dieter Poetsch told German daily Boersen-Zeitung.
